Seattle General Toastmasters was chartered in May 1945. It was founded by a group of men (Toastmasters was only for men in those days) from the Seattle General Petroleum Company. Over the years the club has broadened its base, and now "Seattle General" stands for the fact that our club is a "general" club and welcomes members from all walks of life.

Seattle General is one of the oldest continually operating clubs in the Toastmasters International organization.
